Sarajevo, June 16, 2025 – The Faculty of Islamic Studies at the University of Sarajevo today held an official farewell ceremony for English language lecturer Noelle Gulick, marking the successful completion of her engagement within the Fulbright Program during the 2024/25 academic year.

Throughout the year, Ms. Gulick conducted English conversation classes for undergraduate students. Based on student evaluations from the winter semester, she was awarded the title of the Faculty’s Most Successful External Associate.

As a token of appreciation for her outstanding contribution to teaching and the academic community, the Vice Dean for International Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Aid Smajić, presented her with a special certificate of recognition, a monetary award, and a symbolic gift. Dr. Amina Arnautović, English language professor at the Faculty, also attended the farewell ceremony.

Noelle Gulick was born in Buffalo, New York, USA. She earned her Juris Doctor degree from Northeastern University School of Law in Boston, where she actively participated in numerous legal clinics and organizations dedicated to human rights and immigration justice. In the summer of 2023, she was named a Program on Human Rights and Global Economy Scholar. She previously completed a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Global Studies at the University of Pittsburgh, with minors in Legal Studies and Spanish, and participated in a study abroad program at Leiden University in The Hague.

As a recipient of the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship, she taught English at the University of Sarajevo. Prior to this, she worked with legal and humanitarian organizations in Greece, the United States, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, including the Legal Centre Lesvos and the Capital Appeals Project. Her professional background is marked by a strong commitment to human rights, international justice, and education.
